70-year-old Gabriela (Ursula Werner) is terminally ill. Together with a troop of bounty hunters, she embarks on an unpredictable journey through a raw and dystopian world marked by overgrown nature and human brutality. If you pay, you get everything, from cheap helpers to surrogate mothers or organs. Supposedly eternal life is offered for sale, along with human dignity.

Jury statement:
An elderly woman is obviously seriously ill, but she has bought life. Whoever pays gets everything in this dystopian world. Then the day has come that is supposed to mean her future, and her transformation into the inhuman takes its course. F FOR FREAKS is not only a disturbing film, but also a disturbing one. A film about a world divided into large and small people. The little ones - beautiful and perfect - are exploited because they are the little ones, weaker. The big ones, mostly marked by physical or mental "defects", take everything - because they are capable of it. The supposed dream of eternal life is for sale, as is human dignity. The genre cinema as a sociological model. From the opening credits to the end, Sabine Ehrl succeeds in making a film with a consistent artistic signature and a courageous will to tell and create. F FOR FREAKS is a successful genre cinema experience.
